Zuverlässigkeit, Sicherheit und Langlebigkeit sind drei wesentliche Eigenschaften, die REO-Produkte erfüllen. Um dies unseren Kunden auch in Form von Zertifizierungen und Normen unter Beweis zu stellen, bietet REO UL zertifizierte Produkte an.
Die Zertifikatsvergabe der amerikanischen UL (Underwriters Laboratories ) entspricht in etwa der europäischen CE-Kennzeichnung. Jedoch erklären die Hersteller die Einhaltung der CE-Bestimmungen in der Regel von sich aus, während der Vergabe des UL-Prüfzeichens eine unabhängige Zertifizierung durch die UL vorangeht.
Die UL entwickelt dafür Normen und Verfahren, um Produkte, Materialien und Komponenten sicherheitstechnisch hinsichtlich der Einhaltung von Standards zu prüfen. Eine typische Norm für Elektroartikel umfasst Anforderungen an die elektrische Sicherheit, die Entflammbarkeit und prüft potenzielle mechanische Gefahrenquellen. Wenn alle Sicherheitsnormen eingehalten werden, dürfen die Erzeugnisse ein UL-Prüfzeichen tragen.
Dies ist entweder ein UL Listing-Prüfzeichen oder ein UL Recognized Component Prüfzeichen. Das UL Listing-Prüfzeichen ist der Nachweis dafür, dass die UL repräsentative Muster des entsprechenden Produkts geprüft und dessen Übereinstimmung mit den geltenden Sicherheitsanforderungen bestätigt hat. Das UL Recognized Component Prüfzeichen besagt, dass eine von UL anerkannte Komponente in einem Produkt oder System verwendet werden kann, welches das UL Listing-Prüfzeichen trägt.

Um einen langfristigen Standard zu gewährleisten prüft die UL unangekündigt Produkte und Produktionsstätten. UL geprüfte Produkte von REO haben folglich nicht nur unter strengen Prüfstandards ihre Einsatzfähigkeit und einen risikoarmen Betrieb bewiesen, sondern stehen auch für eine transparente und qualitativ hochwertige Produkten in den REO-Werken.
